Restore the Reef Project Pattaya Scuba Diving

Restore The Reef Project

Restore The Reef Project is a local dive initiative started by Scuba Adventures and Underwater Clicks. We have been exploring the local area for long forgot dive sites and locations and in doing so we have found a number for fantastic local coral reefs and dive sites. Unfortunately, some of these locations have been subjected to abandoned fishing nets, which besides damaging the coral itself pose a serious ongoing risk to local marine life that still gets caught in them.

We are scheduling 4 dive trips over this next month, 2 during a week day and 2 over weekends.

Each dive trip is open to open water card holders and above.

Each dive trip will cost only 2,500THB to make 2 dives (This Fee supports the cost of boat travel to sites, lunch and air tanks)

You will need a dive knife or scissors

We will teach you how to remove net with as little damage to the reef as possible

Divers will be split into buddy teams of 2 or 3 to work on cutting the net away from the reef

Dive Pros who can lead a dive can request a special rate to join in and help.

There is currently over 100m of net to remove off at least 2 new dive sites.

We will need to plan a dive day where the tides and wind are suitable

If you would like to join please fill out the form below and stipulate which day you may be available to join. All divers who join this conservation effort will be rewarded with a discounted fun dive trip back to the new dive sites for fun to enjoy the site and see the improvement your work contributed to making.

Once we have compiled the helper divers list, we will contact you to request and confirm the dive date you will join.

Please come and help as soon as you can. We have removed a lot in the past week but we have already witnessed 1 turtle die and many other forms of aquatic life trapped in these abandoned nets. We need your help now.

Thank you, Kop Kun Krub

THESE TRIPS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST.
