Who should take PADI Underwater Photography Course?

This PADI Underwater Photography Course is for anyone who wants to learn from the beginning or improve their Underwater Photography. Our In House UW Photography Instructor can adapt the course to your level and also focus on the style or styles you want to master, be It Macro, Wide Angle, Strobe, White Balance, Dive buddy portrait.. the list is endless.

What’s involved In this deep diver course?

This Digital Underwater Photography course is based around the PADI Underwater Photography Course training, plus includes workshops and photographic assignments on a private one-to-one basis to ensure an exceptional learning experience. The Course schedule is flexible ( 2- 4 days ) but we recommend planning your Specialty Course training around our 3 or 4-day schedule to get the most out of our time together.

Our Underwater Photography training uses the guidelines of the PADI Underwater Imaging Course but we beyond this minimum requirement and teach mastery of Buoyancy Control with a Camera to protect both your expensive equipment AND our priceless underwater environment.  We also teach much more in-depth pre-dive preparations, post-dive care, and professional techniques around the basic standard course you will find in other dive centers, but this course is unique and taught by our in-house underwater photographer.

Underwater Camera Rental:

It’s good to learn on your own Underwater camera, after all, it’s what you are going to be using afterwards, but if you’re new to UW photography, Contact us about rental camera options.

PADI Underwater Photography Workshop Day #1 ( Dry Session Approx. 3hours )

Reviewing and planning our course objectives. Equipment and Camera Preparation, care and familiarisation. This is a dry day where we complete all necessary preparations and academics along with dive plans and photographic assignments. This session is fun, informative and very useful in making you 100% ready to get the most out of your photography dives.

PADI Underwater Photography Workshop Day #2 ( 2 Dive Day )

Boat Trip to perform 2 one on one Underwater Photography dives focusing on the two primary elements of UW camera use ( White balance & Flash / Strobe ) whilst challenging your buoyancy control and dive technique with a camera on a dive.  Quick Review of our work and debriefing before choosing next assignment.

Underwater Photography Workshop Day #3 ( Optional Extra Dive Day)

Boat Trip to perform 2 more one on one Underwater Photography dives focusing on the photographic assignments discussed in first days debriefing. Full Review of all our work and debriefing to set future goals.

Underwater Photography Workshop Day #4 ( Optional Extra Dive Day )

UW Photo Workshop Bootcamp. Seen an image or two in My Underwater Photography Portfolio Gallery and want to know how they were taken. Join me on Dive Trip and choose two photographs you’d like to replicate I’ll share with you my camera settings, techniques, and methods to getting the shot perfect!

Important Information Please Read

  • Are you fit to dive? Please take a look at this PADI MEDICAL FORM and check you can answer ‘NO’ to all the medical questions.  If you say ‘YES’ to any of these, it may mean you have to see a doctor to sign you off fit to dive before diving.  If you read it and answer ‘No’ to all, then you are good to start scuba diving.
  • Flying After Scuba Diving: For safety you must plan to leave a minimum of 18 hrs after scuba diving before going to altitude.
