Who should take The PADI Navigation Diver Specialty Course?

This dive course is for Open water certified divers up, this specialty level dive course trains divers to learn to navigate plan, and execute dive routes with confidence. You will learn about approaching Navigation safely and how to go about leading the direction underwater dives whilst making navigation training dives. This Specialty course credits towards your PADI Master Diver Level!

What’s involved In this Navigation diver course?

Day 1: 

Introduction and eLearning Review: Overview of the PADI Navigation Diver course, objectives, and importance of underwater navigation.

Dive 1: Practical Exercises Practice compass navigation, distance estimation, and maintaining directional control.

Dive 2: Practical Exercises reciprocal and triangulation navigation, navigating in low visibility, and techniques for navigating without a compass.

Debrief: Review dive experiences, discuss challenges, and reinforce key learnings.

Day 2: 

Dive Planning Workshop / Preparation: Instruction on planning a dive using navigation techniques, including mapping dive sites and predicting underwater currents.

Dive 3: Applied navigation skills in open water. Execute compass navigation, practice reciprocal and triangulation techniques

Dive 4: The culmination of the PADI Navigation Diver course. We let you lead the dive! This extra dive will enhance your navigation confidence.

  • Must Hold an Advanced Dive License
  • Must be in reasonable good health
  • Not afraid to have fun

Important Information Please Read

  • Are you fit to dive? Please take a look at this PADI MEDICAL FORM and check you can answer ‘NO’ to all the medical questions.  If you say ‘YES’ to any of these, it may mean you have to see a doctor to sign you off fit to dive before diving.  If you read it and answer ‘No’ to all, then you are good to start scuba diving.
  • Flying After Scuba Diving: For safety you must plan to leave a minimum of 18 hrs after scuba diving before going to altitude.
